If your new A+ page is still "in review" on the morning of Friday 27 November, or your main image has been suppressed overnight, your listing goes into the busiest shopping days of the year for many sellers looking broken, and every hour of it is sales you do not get back. The fix is a calendar, not a scramble: upload main image fixes by Monday 9 November, submit any new A+ content by Friday 13 November at the latest, and freeze image and A+ edits from Friday 20 November. This Black Friday listing checklist works back from Amazon's own dates and review times, and marks every date that is our recommendation rather than an Amazon rule.
Start with what you can no longer change. The deal submission window for Black Friday and Cyber Monday closed on 20 October, and the inbound shipping cutoffs for Prime-badge eligibility passed on 14, 21 and 28 October, so on 6 November the levers left are images, A+ content and copy. Those levers have review clocks of their own, which is why the order of the work matters more than the amount of it. If a main image already shows a warning in Seller Central, read through the steps for an Amazon suppressed listing image.
Key takeaways
Black Friday 2026 falls on Friday 27 November and Cyber Monday on Monday 30 November, so from Friday 6 November you have three working weeks to get images and A+ content live and settled. Amazon's FAQ says of Black Friday, "This year, the event falls on November 27, 2026, so it's only a few weeks away." and of Cyber Monday, "This year, it's on November 30, 2026." Amazon does not give a start date for the wider Black Friday Week deal event on the pages we checked, so this plan treats the Friday as the deadline and keeps a buffer before it. Both dates are confirmed in Amazon's Black Friday FAQ.
Black Friday is mainly an Amazon.com (US) and Shopify event. If you sell only on Amazon.in, Flipkart or Meesho, those marketplaces run their own festive sales, and you can use the same clock against those sale dates, but every date here is for Amazon.com. Indian brands that export to the US store should follow the dates as written.
The deal submission window and the inbound shipping cutoffs for Black Friday Week and Cyber Monday have all passed, so you cannot add a new deal or ship new stock in time for the Prime badge through those programmes. In an Amazon Seller Forums post, an Amazon account wrote: "The submission window for Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals closes October 20, 2026." A separate post titled "Holiday 2026: Same fees, same eligibility, earlier deadlines" listed the inbound dates: 14 October for AWD shipments, 21 October for FBA minimal shipment splits and 28 October for FBA Amazon-optimized shipment splits.
That leaves the detail page itself. Amazon's own seller checklist for the season, posted by an Amazon account on the Seller Forums, says "Audit your top listings for accuracy and optimization." It does not mention images or A+ content, but those are the parts of a listing that sit in a review queue or take time to appear, so they are the ones that can still go wrong after you press submit. This post does not cover deals, advertising, pricing or inventory planning. It covers the main image, secondary images, A+ content and copy, in the order their clocks demand.
The checklist below runs from today to Cyber Monday in four moves: audit and fix main images by 9 November, submit the last A+ content by 13 November, freeze image and A+ edits on 20 November, then monitor until the event. Business-day counts are our own arithmetic, Monday to Friday with no holidays assumed, and Amazon says A+ review can take longer during peak times, so read every date as the latest safe day, not a target.
| Date | What to do | Source |
|---|---|---|
| 14, 21 and 28 Oct (passed) | Inbound cutoffs for Black Friday Week and Cyber Monday Prime-badge eligibility | Amazon |
| 20 Oct (passed) | Deal submission window for Black Friday and Cyber Monday closed | Amazon |
| Fri 6 to Mon 9 Nov | Audit top ASINs: main image rules, suppressed images, broken or rejected A+ | Our recommendation (image rules: Amazon) |
| Fri 6 Nov | Submit any new A+ you want with a full buffer: seven business days lands on Tue 17 Nov | Our recommendation (review time: Amazon) |
| By Mon 9 Nov | Upload main image replacements, leaving time for a reupload | Our recommendation (72 hour note: Amazon) |
| Mon 9 to Fri 13 Nov | Holiday or gift-themed secondary images, holiday keywords in copy, tag any AI images with people | Amazon advice; placement off the main image is our recommendation |
| Fri 13 Nov | Last recommended A+ submission day: seven business days lands on Tue 24 Nov | Our recommendation |
| Fri 13 to Thu 19 Nov | Copy fixes only: title, bullets, search terms; check the mobile view | Our recommendation |
| Fri 20 Nov | Freeze image and A+ edits, check every live ASIN, open a Seller Support case for anything stuck | Our recommendation |
| Mon 23 to Thu 26 Nov | Monitor only: check for suppressed listings daily, keep corrected files ready | Our recommendation |
| Fri 27 Nov | Black Friday | Amazon |
| Mon 30 Nov | Cyber Monday | Amazon |
Read the Source column before you plan around a date. Only the event dates, the passed deadlines, the image rules, the A+ review time and the 72 hour image note come from Amazon. The audit window, the two A+ submission days, the copy week, the freeze and the monitoring week are our recommendation, built by counting those Amazon timings backwards from Friday 27 November. Use this Black Friday listing checklist as a printed sheet: tick each row per ASIN, starting with your five best sellers, because a fix on the listing that sells most is worth more than polish on the rest.
Plan to the earlier A+ day: Friday 6 November gives a full seven business days by Tuesday 17 November, and if Amazon rejects that first version, a resubmission on 17 November still gets seven business days by Thursday 26 November, the day before Black Friday. Friday 13 November gives one cycle and no second chance.
Audit the main image of each top-selling ASIN first, because it is the image shoppers see first in search results, and a main image that breaks Amazon's rules is the fastest way to lose the listing at the worst moment. In an Amazon Seller Forums post on product image requirements and best practices, an Amazon account set out the main image basics. Check each one against your current file:
Then look past the main image. Open Seller Central and check for suppressed images on your top ASINs, any A+ content marked rejected, and any A+ module that shows a broken or missing image on the live page. Write each problem next to its ASIN with the date you found it, because the fix date decides which row of the table it falls into. The full rules behind each check, including the secondary slots, are in the guide to Amazon product image requirements.
Before you replace anything, ask whether the current main image actually fails a rule or just looks tired. A compliant main image that has sold all year is not worth swapping in November for a fresher one, because every replacement restarts the wait for the new file to show and adds a chance of a fresh problem. Measure the background with a colour picker rather than by eye, check the fill on the full-size file, and only replace what fails.
Do not dress up the main image for the season. Santa hats, gift bows, snow scenes and "Black Friday" text are additional text, graphics or props not included in the purchase. Keep the main image plain and put the season in the secondary slots.
A+ content can take up to seven business days to be reviewed, or longer during peak times, so the last A+ submission day we recommend before Black Friday is Friday 13 November, and Friday 6 November is safer. In an Amazon Seller Forums post where a seller asked why their A+ content had been in review for longer than seven days, an Amazon account replied: "Once A+ content is submitted for approval, your content may take up to seven business days to be reviewed, or longer during peak times." The full reply is in the A+ review forum thread.
Here is the arithmetic, our own count of Monday to Friday with no holidays assumed. Seven business days from Friday 6 November lands on Tuesday 17 November. Seven business days from Friday 13 November lands on Tuesday 24 November, three days before Black Friday. The phrase "or longer during peak times" means even the 13 November date carries no guarantee, and late November is the obvious candidate for a peak. If your A+ is a nice-to-have rather than a fix, submit it in the first week or hold it until after Cyber Monday.
A rejected module costs you a whole review cycle, so get the files right before the first submission rather than after the rejection. Export each module at the size A+ Content Manager asks for, keep key text typed into the text fields where the module has them, and check that every claim in an image matches your bullets. The pixel sizes for every Standard and Premium module are listed in the A+ content image size guide.
One thing Amazon does not state on the pages we checked is whether editing A+ content while it is in review restarts the clock. Our recommendation is not to touch a submission once it is in review: if you spot a mistake, note it and submit the correction after the first version is approved or rejected, unless the mistake itself would get the content rejected.
New images can take up to 72 hours to appear on the detail page in some instances, so upload main image replacements by Monday 9 November, which leaves room to spot a problem and upload again. In an Amazon Seller Forums post about images not updating, an Amazon account wrote that "in some instances images may take up to 72 hours to appear live on the detail page". That is the only timing we can state, and the source is the image update forum thread.
Seventy-two hours after Monday 9 November is Thursday 12 November, so if a replacement has not appeared by then you still have the rest of that week and the following week to find out why and reupload, well before the 20 November freeze. Check the new image on a phone as well as a desktop, in search results and on the detail page, because that is where most holiday shoppers will see it first.
Yes, holiday or gift-themed images are worth adding before Black Friday, and our recommendation is to put them in secondary image slots, never in the main image. In an Amazon Seller Forums post from an older holiday season, an Amazon account advised: "Update your product images to showcase gift-giving potential or holiday themes." The same post said "Optimize your product titles, bullet points, and descriptions with holiday-specific keywords if appropriate." and "Create A+ Content (if eligible) to showcase your products' unique features and benefits."
We did not find an Amazon rule that says seasonal images may only go in secondary slots. Keeping them off the main image follows from the main image rules above (no added text or graphics, no props that are not sold with the product), so the placement is our recommendation. A gift scene works well as the fourth or fifth image, after the white background shot and the key feature images, so the shopper still sees the product clearly first. More ideas for those slots are in the guide to seasonal product image ideas.
If the gap is a gift scene or a lifestyle shot rather than a fresh studio shoot, ListingRVA AI makes marketplace-sized product images, including white background, lifestyle and infographic images, and A+ module images from the product photo you already have. That shortens the making part of the week; it does not shorten Amazon's review or display times, and A+ approval is still Amazon's decision.
Holiday keywords belong in copy only where they are true for the product, such as a gift box that really ships with it. Finish those copy edits by 19 November, after the image and A+ work is in, and check each title against the current length rule for your category in the breakdown of the Amazon title character limit.
If a holiday image contains a photorealistic AI-generated person, you must tag the file with the keyword contains-synthetic-performer before you upload it, for listing images and for A+ content. In an Amazon Seller Forums post, an Amazon account announced: "You must now tag product images that contain photorealistic AI-generated people with specific metadata". The same post says "you must use an IPTC-compatible metadata editor to add the keyword "contains-synthetic-performer"" and adds "This requirement only applies if your image or video contains photorealistic AI-generated people."
So a gift scene with only the product needs no tag, and a cosy living room with an AI-generated person holding the product does. ListingRVA AI adds the contains-synthetic-performer tag automatically to its model and people image styles, and to A+ images where a check finds a photorealistic person, but you should still open each file in a metadata viewer and confirm the keyword is there before upload. The background to the rule is in the explainer on the synthetic performer tagging rule.
From Friday 20 November, our recommendation is to freeze image and A+ edits, check every live ASIN once more, and open a Seller Support case straight away for anything still stuck in review or not showing. A change made after that date has little time to clear review or appear, and if it goes wrong you have no room to fix it before Friday 27 November. Everything after this row of the Black Friday listing checklist is watching, not changing.
On freeze day, open each top ASIN on a phone and on a desktop, signed out or in a private window so you see what a shopper sees, and check the main image, the full image stack, the A+ section and the title against your audit notes. To catch copy and image gaps you may have missed, run the same ASINs through a free listing quality checker.
Keep a small kit ready for the monitoring week:
From Monday 23 to Thursday 26 November, monitor only. Check for suppressed listings every day, keep corrected versions of your main image and A+ files ready to upload, and only use them if a listing actually breaks. If an A+ submission is still sitting in review at this point, do not resubmit it in a panic. Open or follow up the Seller Support case, keep the current version live if there is one, and work through the steps for A+ content stuck in Submitted.
Shopify sellers should check every product page now, because Shopify's own guidance says the start of November is the latest point to begin. Shopify's BFCM checklist says "Ecommerce stores should start preparing for Black Friday by early fall, or the beginning of November at the latest." and "Include a clear call-to-action, product description, and payment options on every product page." The Amazon review clocks in this post are Amazon's, so they do not apply to your own store. The order of this Black Friday listing checklist still helps, though: fix the images on your best sellers first, then the product descriptions, then stop changing pages a few days before the sale so you are not editing live during the rush.
Make marketplace-sized white background, lifestyle and A+ module images from the product photos you already have, then check them against the rules above before upload. Start free with 50 credits, no credit card.
Start free →By our count, Friday 13 November. Amazon says A+ review may take up to seven business days, or longer during peak times, and seven business days (Monday to Friday, no holidays assumed) from 13 November lands on Tuesday 24 November. Friday 6 November is safer because it leaves room for a second submission if the first is rejected.
In an Amazon Seller Forums post, an Amazon account said that in some instances images may take up to 72 hours to appear live on the detail page. Upload main image replacements by Monday 9 November so there is time to reupload if something goes wrong.
Not for the Black Friday and Cyber Monday deal events. The submission window for those deals closed on 20 October, and the inbound cutoffs for Prime-badge eligibility passed on 14, 21 and 28 October. What you can still change is your images, A+ content and copy.
Keep the main image plain. Amazon's main image basics include a pure white background and no additional text, graphics, watermarks or props not included in the purchase. Put gift and holiday scenes in secondary image slots, which is our recommendation.
Audit the main image and A+ on your top ASINs, upload main image fixes by 9 November, submit the last A+ by 13 November, add holiday secondary images and copy by 19 November, freeze image and A+ edits from 20 November, then monitor daily until Black Friday on 27 November and Cyber Monday on 30 November. The working dates are our recommendation.
Amazon does not say on the pages we checked whether an edit restarts the review clock. Our recommendation is to leave a submission alone while it is in review and submit any correction after it is approved or rejected.
No. Black Friday is mainly an Amazon.com (US) and Shopify event, and the dates here are for Amazon.com. Indian marketplaces run their own festive sales, so use the same working back clock against those sale dates instead.
